An exciting leadership opportunity has become available for a Service Manager - General , who has a genuine interest in providing support to people living with an intellectual disability, and are able to build strong relationships with service users, their families, and staff to support the delivery of a safe and high-quality service.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will manage the day-to-day running of allocated services (residential, vocational, or Supported Living), provide guidance and support to staff, as well as positively and proactively participate in communities of practice within the Rotorua area.

This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis, working 5 days across a 7-day Monday to Sunday period, involvement in the on-call roster, attractive remuneration package, vehicle that is able to be used for personal use, and additional employee benefits.


  • Experience working positively with people who have an intellectual disability, and achieving defined outcomes.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum Level 5 leadership qualification, or a willingness to work towards.
  • The ability to develop comprehensive support and teaching plans.
  • Ability to build and manage a successful team.
  • Previous experience and competence in managing budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work within a changing environment, and able to present new ways of working (best practice).
  • Full Drivers Licence.
