Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga - The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) leads Aotearoa - New Zealand's housing and urban development work programme.

The role sits within a small, but highly interactive team that is consistently sharing ideas, brain-storming issues, and looking for better ways of doing things.
There is also a continuous undercurrent of good-humour, story telling and the odd Stuff quiz.
In this role you will embrace whanaungatanga, working alongside our P&C practitioners and the wider business to support the development, implementation and embedding our tāngata initiatives.
You will be a trusted advisor, providing practical and meaningful solutions to issues and support the development and implementation of people-related policies across a portfolio of groups who work to respond to the housing crisis and how to review and reset the system so that whānau can live in a way that connects them to their identity, language and culture, their whenua and whakapapa.
The role has plenty of scope to build on your existing experience, with the opportunity to get involved with project work to support the operational and strategic goals of Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga.

Key to your success in this role will be your pragmatic, level-headed approach to problem solving and effective partnering focus with the business to ensure outcomes make a difference for Tangata Whenua and Tangata Tiriti.
You will be self-directed, motivating and influencing others within the advisory team to ensure the successful delivery of our work programmes across the Ministry.
We are looking for natural relationship builders, capable of working across diverse stakeholders to understand varying perspectives and reflect them in advice that you give.
Your experience thus far has equipped you with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to see the bigger picture.
You will bring a multi-disciplinary approach to the role and draw on your knowledge and expertise of delivering a wide range of HR and people initiatives.
With a proven track record of success in a similar type role, you will inspire and influence others to drive successful people and business outcomes.

We have exciting mahi ahead of us including the implementation of a new HRMIS, the bedding-in of a new organisational structure, and supporting MAIHI Ka Ora the National Māori Housing Strategy ensuring all whānau have safe, healthy, affordable homes with secure tenure, across the Māori housing continuum.

What we can offer you :
We have a stepped remuneration framework where salary movement happens though defined step increases within a role salary band.
Appointment to a step within the salary range will depend on the experience and skills the person brings to the role which will be better known following a recruitment process including an interview.
Salaries automatically move up a step on an annual basis.
Step 1 - $115,975 to Step 16 - $141,747.
