Deal Advisory is a multi-disciplinary team covering a range of services including Restructuring and Insolvency, Transaction Services, Valuations, Modelling, Infrastructure Advisory and Mergers and Acquisitions.

We are looking for exceptional candidates with approximately 1-2 years’ experience to primarily work within the Restructuring and Insolvency service line but also have the potential to work outside this core service area, across wider Deal Advisory streams both locally and nationally as workflows require.

This experience may have been gained working in the accounting or legal professions or organisations where you have gained transferable experience.

The opportunity :

  • Supporting the national Restructuring and Insolvency team in working on high profile complex engagements that will challenge and stimulate candidates.
  • Working to analyse, interpret and draw conclusions from information and provide recommendations on appropriate next steps
  • Understanding the core reasons for the failure of a company, the potential culpability of individuals or organisations in that failure and what appropriate actions and remedies are available.
  • Learning from some of the best and most experienced individuals in the New Zealand insolvency industry
  • Undertaking both on and off the job training to develop your skillset and deepen your knowledge
  • Day to day you will :

  • Manage a workload of multiple engagements and prioritise tasks appropriately
  • Draft advice and correspondence based on analysis
  • Liaise with key company stakeholders (directors, employees, creditors, debtors, banks)
  • Interpret, research and apply relevant legislation
  • Support negotiations on the sale of assets and businesses
  • Assist with the planning of engagements through development of work programmes
  • Produce clear and well-presented documents and reports which will be delivered to clients as part of our work
  • What you'll bring to our team :

  • 1-2 years’ experience gained working in the accounting or legal profession or within government organisations
  • An understanding of and interest in the commercial environment
  • The ability to work in a team environment and provide meaningful support to senior team members on larger / complex assignments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • A high level of professionalism
  • Organisational skills and dependability
  • A high level of self-motivation, energy and drive
