Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales strategies, prospecting new opportunities, and managing the current customer base to promote, sell, and secure new business to ensure maximum profitability.
In this hands-on sales role, you will achieve sales growth by making sales calls and visits across New Zealand and overseas (when permitted) and presenting to prospective customers to close deals and build a high-income customer pipeline.
You will also be responsible for growing and developing a team of sales representatives, leading them to achieve sales targets, growth, and outstanding customer experience.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a strategic and creative thinker with demonstrated successes in leading sales teams and growing sales.
Critical to your success in this role will be your interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
You will live and breathe sales and have a hands on / customer centric approach to selling. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills, sales reporting / administration experience, and strong commercial acumen will be integral to your success.
A background in freight service industry is advantageous, but more important will be your proactive, high energy, and strategic approach to sales.
