ENGEO is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer with at least 2 years of experience to join our small Queenstown office. We currently have an exciting, dynamic and diverse workload across New Zealand, Australia and California and we are interested in hearing from enthusiastic people who want to make a difference, and be part of our journey.

We are an award winning, employee-owned firm of 100 people in NZ. ENGEO offers geotechnical, geological, environmental and hydrologic consulting services.

About this role :

This position will involve exposure to a wide range of geotechnical project types such as earthworks, foundation and retaining wall design, geotechnical hazard and risk assessment, and temporary works.

Experience and Skills

About you :

  • Our ideal candidate is someone who is hungry, humble and smart and;
  • Has a BE (Civil) or a ME (Geotechnical).
  • Has 2+ years of geotechnical consulting experience (ideally most of which in
  • New Zealand);
  • Wants to be part of a small team and involved in all project stages from scoping to ground investigation and design, and communicating findings with our clients;
  • Has excellent project management skills;
  • Is passionate about geology and geotechnical engineering - in all its forms!
  • Shows a positive can do’ attitude;
  • Wants to grow their career, make a difference in the community and create an impact;
  • Understands and fosters client relationships;
  • Will check your ego in at the door and work alongside a dynamic team;
  • Finds innovative and pragmatic ways to deliver excellent outcomes to your Clients;
  • Is proficient in soil and rock logging;
  • Works well in team environments;
  • Has an eye for detail; and
  • Has strong verbal and written communication skills including technical report writing.
