At BestStart, we’ve been looking after NZ’s youngest for over 24 years. We’re leaders in the early childhood sector, we make a difference and we love what we do.

Trust is more than a word for us; it’s the way that we approach what we do.

    What will I be doing?

This is where you come in! Whānau are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be playing a key role in building relationships with our children and families here at BestStart St Albans!

BestStart St Albans is 'Where Kids Can Be Kids!' Located in a beautiful old Villa close to the city, our centre has a very homely feel to it.

We are licenced for 50 children, 16 unders (0-2) and 34 overs (2-5). We have a large outdoor space in the preschool and a cook who cooks nutritious meals for our tamariki.

At BestStart St Albans we pride ourselves on our warm reciprocal relationships we share with our tamariki (children), whanau (family) and wider community.

We believe tamariki develop through play, with opportunities for fun interwoven with emerging interests. We believe tamariki learn as individuals and through social and emotional interactions with peers and teachers, who scaffold learning through guidance and support.

We believe strongly in supporting our tamariki with implementing conscious discipline, with guidance and support from their Kaiako.

BestStart St Albans is located in the heart of Christchurch City with onsite parking available. We have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher in Training to join us, working with our 0-2 year olds.
