  • Fixed term opportunity for 12 months About the role : New Zealand Government Procurement has a fixed term position available as a project lead for the government supplier relationship management (SRM) programme.
  • This is a newly established programme to lift agency capability, improve SRM practices across government and implement a coordinated approach to manage the governments most critical and strategic supply partners.

    The project lead will take full responsibility for managing the various workstreams to ensure the co-operation and coordination of stakeholders.

    You will have strong interpersonal and relationship management skills. Your ability to multitask, manage multiple and moving priorities, easily engage with stakeholders and influence is part of your DNA.

    Nothing's an issue, you always deliver and have high standards for yourself and others. You must set the tone and actively provide leadership, motivation, mentoring, and supervision to ensure the programme objectives are met.

    You'll be a leader in your field and easily able to direct stakeholders and manage projects through the project lifecycle to meet the defined objectives. In this role you will :

  • Provide project management and delivery expertise to ensure programme objectives are met;
  • Engage and consult with multiple stakeholders including other government agencies, participating agencies and suppliers;
  • Influence the best outcomes for government through programme delivery
  • Coach, mentor and provide advice to help build other's understanding of project management disciplines and techniques. Skills and experience required :
  • Project management at a senior level
  • Experience in project delivery and reporting
  • Stakeholder relationship management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
