The CDHBTelephone Office is looking for our next Team Leader.

Located atChristchurch Hospital the Telephone Office is the first point of contact forcallers to six hospitals : Burwood, Christchurch, Christchurch Women s,Hillmorton, The Princess Margaret Hospital and Ashburton Hospitals.

Our service includes answering and actioninggeneral hospital enquiries, patient enquiry calls, internal calls for clinicalstaff, confirming appointments, internal emergency calls (777) and monitoringalarms.

Providing Reception duties roundsoff the range of services that you will be responsible for.

The role isfull time and our service operates 24 / 7. The role is primarily Monday to Friday, but you would need to be able tocover weekends and evenings as required.

As the TeamLeader, you will be responsible for ensuring that each day runs smoothly whileknowing that the unexpected can happen at any time, and you can handle it.

Your day-to-day responsibilities includestaff rostering, staff recruitment and training, ensuring the on call rostersare updated accurately in the electronic whiteboard, monitoring alarms and raisingissues with the appropriate support provider, testing procedures to ensure they are robust andfollowing up customer (internal and external) feedback.

To besuccessful in the role you will have the following :

  • Ability to use a range of communicationmethods effectively to resolve issues
  • Can initiate,recommend, investigate, trouble-shoot and provide solutions
  • Proactivelyseek to improve processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to lead effectively in a rangeof professional situations that contain a degree of unpredictability
  • Ability to maintain positive workingrelationships with a wide range of people associated with a health provider
  • Willingness to take responsibility forand analyse your own performance to ensure continuous learning
  • Computer,organisational, and administrative skills with a high sharp eye for detail areessential.
