    The Chief Ombudsman is independent and impartial, with the goal of fairness for all.Mō tō mātou tira About the teamOur Strategic Advice Team provides high level strategic advice on matters relating to policy and practice and guidance within our Office and to external agencies.

    In addition, team members contribute their subject matter expertise and strategic advice in support of training, communications, knowledge management, research and evaluation and international relations.

    Mō te tūranga - About the roleThe role of the Senior Advisor in the Strategy, Engagement and Development Group is to work with Principal Advisors to provide strategic advice on matters relating to policy and professional practice.

    You may also be called on to contribute to the Ombudsman's annual report and other strategic corporate reports, assist with undertaking external satisfaction surveys and support our internal quality assurance system.

    In addition, the Senior Advisor will contribute their strategic expertise and advice in support of the training, communications, knowledge management, international relations and research and evaluation functions.

    He kōrero mōu About youTo be successful in this role you will have :

  • a legal or other relevant tertiary qualification;
  • experience at a senior level in a legal advisory and / or policy development role, ideally in public administration;
  • excellent writing skills;
  • strong research and analytical skills including ability to distil key information into reports and recommendations;
  • exceptional planning, organising and prioritisation skills; and
