    The Role :

    A great opportunity currently exists for an experienced Senior Auditor to join our Audit division in Nelson.

    Our Audit team provides the full breadth of Audit and Assurance services across the country, from financial statement audit to risk consulting, including service excellence to large middle market businesses and small to medium enterprises.

    As Senior Auditor you will act as the primary point of contact with a broad number of clients and will be responsible for the management and completion of multiple audit engagements.

    You will supervise and assist assigned engagement teams on all aspects of an audit engagement for review by the Engagement Manager.

    You will also work alongside the partners and other key stakeholders in the performance of special assignments and reports when required, ensuring that work is completed in line with Crowe Audit Methodology together with relevant industry legislation and regulation.

    Key responsibilities :

  • Completing standard auditing activities for review, ensuring jobs are completed effectively and within agreed budget and time-frames.
  • Provide regular progress reports to Manager and Partner level including identifying and discussing any issue and determining appropriate actions.
  • Assist in preparing business reports and management letters for clients to highlight key issues and recommended actions.
  • Acting as Lead Auditor on smaller engagements including determining the audit strategy, timetable, scheduling employees and being the main point of client contact.
  • Establish strong relationships with clients to maintain and drive on-going engagements.
  • Look for opportunities to add value to existing client’s scope of work within the firm.
  • Mentor junior audit team members, and actively contribute to a supportive and team-first culture
  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge to ensure compliance with all statutory and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • What you need to be successful :

  • Accounting degree or a related degree with a major in Accounting
  • CA or CPA qualified or near completion
  • At least 5 years of experience in Auditor roles
  • The ability to problem solve and undertake research of accounting and auditing issues
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to recognise key business drivers and the commercial pressures affecting the client
  • Personable and approachable personality with a real desire to help clients and develop a strong relationship
  • Solid relationship skills with the ability to lead by example, mentor and work with different learning styles and skills set
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent English written and oral language skills
