What we're looking for?

We have an opportunity for a Water Department Manager to join our busy Napier team. This is a good opportunity for someone looking for the next step in their career!

What you'll be doing

  • Your key focus will be on the following;
  • Job pricing; monitoring progress and methodologies of construction works, managing the water crews and costs,
  • Client relationships; developing and mentoring drainage staff, working closely with the water supervisor,
  • Quality control, fleet management, department financial management, and working with and strengthening department relationships in the region.
  • The variety and pace of this role will continually challenge you along with having exposure to small and major water and drainage projects and providing resources and expertise for road maintenance contracts on an as needed basis, and on all of these job types utilising your proven industry and leadership experience.

    What you'll bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualification is advantageous;
  • Minimum 2 years’ practical experience in civil drainage works and running crews;
  • Advantage in PE Pressure systems
  • Commercial cost control experience;
  • Strong focus on health and safety;
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and communication skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written use of the English language;
  • Team orientated.
