About the role and who we are looking for :
We are looking for an enthusiastic Permanent Part Time Cook to work at Taranaki Hospital Kitchen. Hours of work are Sunday 08 : 00 - 17 : 00 & Monday 08 : 30 - 17 : 00 and will also be covering for sick and annual leave.
You will be responsible for :
In this position you will be responsible for preparing bulk dishes for patient meals and preparing single special items.
You will also at times assist with ordering and stock rotation. On the Sunday you will also be making scones and muffins for the cafe.
You will need to comply with Food safety standards and have the ability to work to time frames and have a good understanding of food allergens.
In addition to this you will be assisting with general kitchen and cleaning duties.
Ideal skills and experience you will have :
If you're our perfect candidate you will be a team player, passionate about food and have excellent time management skills.
You will have outstanding customer service and be flexible, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude.
Having the ability to work proactively both independently and as part of a team is essential, as is a minimum 2 years' experience as a Cook / Chef.
Ideally you will have previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment and hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167).
You will be a pro at Health & Safety but, most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
