PwC’s Sustainability and Climate Change team help businesses to look at the bigger picture, by striking a balance between staying competitive, driving innovation and preserving our natural environment.

We have a multi-disciplinary offering that encompasses consulting, deals, assurance and advisory services, with strong links into PwC’s globally leading sustainability and climate change network.

Our team continues to be in growth mode and as a result we are seeking an experienced Sustainability and Climate Change Director to facilitate this growth and realise further opportunities.

What would you be doing?

Your main mandate will be to further enhance our market offering and expand our established leading team.

As a Director responsible for contributing to, driving and leading the delivery of our Sustainability and Climate Change practice to clients, you will also make your mark on :

Establishing and strengthening client relationships

Developing and executing project plans and deliverables

Spearheading team goal setting, training and development and resource allocation and prioritisation

Developing, driving and measuring ROI of the team strategy to support and enable firm strategy

Engaging with sector and line of service leaders to successfully develop and execute business plans to deliver revenue and relationship growth and grow profile and market share

Collaborating with lead partners and teams to take an active advisory role on key firm priorities, go to market’ propositions, products and pursuits

Assessing and managing project risks and commercial targets

Supporting public and private sector clients across New Zealand with the sustainability and climate change challenges they face today and anticipate encountering in the future

Managing a dynamic work pipeline and ensuring project work is informed by the latest industry trends and technologies.

Creating authentic change and driving the New Zealand economy in a sustainable direction

What do you need to bring to the role?

You will have completed post graduate study in climate change, science, engineering, economics or related disciplines

At least 10 years of experience in industry preferably within consulting, professional services or in a public sector role in a Senior Lead capacity

An awareness of key sustainability and climate change issues and opportunities

Expertise in climate-related policy and / or regulatory development or experience in the application and use of carbon impact and abatement modelling is desirable

Ideally, you will also have practical experience in one or more of the following areas :

Carbon reduction and management

Carbon impact assessment and decarbonisation pathway modelling

Detailed knowledge and experience in the use of climate scenario analysis and climate risk modelling

Sustainability strategy development and implementation

Sustainable finance (ESG due diligence, responsible investment strategies)

Sustainable Supply Chains

Sustainability reporting and disclosure methodologies and frameworks (TCFD, GRI, SASB, SDGs, Integrated Reporting, etc.)
