The Community Support Worker- Flexible Disability Supports role will provide support to people and their families / whanau to achieve a quality of lifestyle of their own choice.

This role is based on Waiheke Island and could include work during the daytime, afternoons, overnight, weekends and school holidays.

The hours will be flexible, working to support the needs of each individual person's lifestyle.

We are currently recruiting casual roles but in the near future, it is very likely that we will be able to offer part and full time roles as the service on Waiheke expands.

We prefer dedicated staff that are committed to build long lasting, reliable relationships with the people we support.

What do you need?

  • A commitment and passion for partnering with people and allowing them to be the drivers in making informed decisions for themselves
  • Excellent communication skills and the capability to provide personalised assistance in a highly respectful manner with people, their families / whanau, and professional agencies
  • Availability to work a wide range of shifts, including overnight and weekend shifts
  • You'll also need :

  • To be fit enough for an active role that may include meaningful activities such as sports, community engagement, and recreational activities
  • Provide support with basic homework tasks, life skills, and social / community engagement
  • You'll jump to the front of the queue if you have :

  • A full driver's licence
  • The ability to use a computer effectively, including programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and email
