Youngman Richardson & Co import and distribute a broad range of machinery and equipment that is used in the hire and construction industries.

We are privately owned, are a family business and conduct business with ethics, great customer service and top quality products.

The products we represent are manufactured in a number of countries including Japan, Italy, Sweden, USA, UK, Australia and France amongst others.

To continue to improve our customer service delivery, we are now looking for a Logistics Administrator to join our purchasing team.

We are looking for someone who can walk the walk and talk the talk and for whom FOB / CIF / RORO / LCL / FCL is not just a mish mash of letters! Your responsibilities will fall into three key areas :

Logistics

You will be the glue that liaises between our manufacturers and the shippers of our products. It’s all about communicating when orders are ready for shipping and then monitoring and tracking orders until it is safely landed in NZ.

Warranty

Even with the best products, at times there are warranty claims and you will be taking care of this important function for the business.

Logging claims, co-ordinating paperwork and updating the system when we hear back from the manufacturer are all part of this role.

Ordering of whole goods

In concert with the Customer Service Manager, you will be creating and modifying orders as required and maintaining a rolling excel spreadsheet on the state of orders ie how many here, on the way or yet to leave the manufacturer.

Key skills that we are looking for include :

  • Good English communication skills particularly in the written word.
  • Strong keyboard skills
  • Past experience in a similar function.
  • A high attention to detail.
  • Skilled at multi-tasking across a large range of products.
  • A good memory
  • A proactive forward thinker.
  • A sense of responsibility around the part you play in the supply chain.
  • A friendly and outgoing personality who is a team player.
  • We are offering a 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, good salary, life insurance and buying privileges after a qualifying period.
