We are looking for an Emergency Response Planner to ensure that CMH has contingency plans and resilient systems in place for managing planned and unplanned emergency situations.

This is a challenging role providing opportunity for you to make your mark!

Working in partnership with the emergency response coordinator, you will need to continually re-evaluate the preparedness of the DHB to respond to any health emergencies and make recommendations of improvements that are supportive of providers to promote a community-based response.

As the Emergency Response Planner, you will need to make sure emergency plans are regularly updated and shared and maintained across the DHBs, stakeholders and Ministry of Health.

Using your leadership skills, you will work with the emergency response trainer to facilitate training exercises and programmes to ensure expert advice has been given to the DHB staff.

To be successful in this role you will need :

  • Level 2 Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) Qualification
  • National Certificate Level 5 or equivalent
  • 5 years' experience in planning and coordinating ideally in an Emergency Response related field
  • 2 years' work-related experience in an Emergency Response related field
  • Familiarity with DHB processes and IT platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of emergency response within the health and public health systems is preferred however relevant knowledge and experience in other related fields will be considered.

    This is a full time Monday - Friday position, based at Middlemore Hospital.
