About the Role :

This role manages the day to day NZ transport operations for all finished goods in our warehouses including 3PL warehouses (Ambient, Frozen and Chilled).

This role also manages transport across NZ manufacture sites, co-pack facilities and wharf transport to meet our SLA's. You will also work with our NZ Supply Planning & NZ Customer Services teams and manage the cost control of the NZ shipping transport network.

Key Responsibilities

Management of NZ Ambient, Frozen and Chilled Transport service providers.

  • Flexible Transport / Operations designed to meet changing environments.
  • Development and implementation of Transport and Distribution systems and processes.
  • Performance and delivery to customer KPI’s and SLA requirements.
  • Ownership of DRP freight management.
  • Understanding of the KraftHeinz Supply chain within ANZ, from Manufacture to Customer.

  • Cross functional alignment with Supply planning to ensure accurate defined DRP mapping and facility structure
  • Best practice methodology, stay abreast of current trends and innovation
  • A positive team focused on quality, customer service, safety, results and profit.
  • Set up and control a reporting system for tracking DRP freight movement across ANZ.
  • Cost Management and reporting

  • Control NZ freight costs by reviewing rates & services in conjunction with Logistics procurement manager and administering ANZ freight contracts.
  • ZBB Transport package owner.
  • Complete understanding of KHC transport policies and reporting of breaches of policy to the appropriate person.
  • Support the ANZ Transport Manager with the RFP and E-auction processes to deliver lowest possible cost whilst maintaining KHC KPI’s and customer SLA’s.
  • Support the ANZ Transport Manager Negotiations of annualized contracted rise and falls with all transport providers.
  • Transport KPI’s & SLA performance capture and reporting.

  • Weekly DOT, DIFOT, RDD reports for all carriers and all transport modes.
  • To actively review current operations and processes and if necessary, via controlled reviews and cross functional support from KHC CLM’s, develop initiatives to ensure KHC Distribution is at the forefront in meeting Customer expectations and changing supply chain initiatives at lowest cost.
  • Compliance, health & safety management.

  • Monitoring of compliance and legislated laws in regards transport providers, around KHC Distribution & 3PL Distribution centres.
  • Comply with and champion all legislative and regulatory responsibilities relating to health, safety and the environment and all KHC site specific policies and goals.
  • Implement and actively participate in the KHC EHS policies and procedures.
  • Secure, monitored transport suppliers using latest technology and vehicle tracking.
  • Complete understanding of KHC transport policies and reporting of breaches of policy to the appropriate person.
  • Stock Write off finance allocations

  • Identify finished goods loss events and collectively work on improvement opportunities.
  • Accurate allocation of any Stock Write off. (Transport related)
  • Ensure Transport accountability for tracking, minimize spoilage and stock loss.
  • About You :

  • Min of 3-5 years’ experience in similar role or logistics role in a FMCG environment
  • Previous experience working with BPCS or other Inventory Management Systems
  • Physical & financial planning & forecasting skills
  • Strong strategic analysis and decision making
  • Sound process improvement experience
  • Good understanding of financial impact of good budget control practices
  • Driving operational performance improvement
  • Proficient in BPCS or other related Inventory Management Systems preferred
  • Advanced in MS Excel desired
  • Technically competent in management systems and more broadly in the discipline where possible.
  • Sound Warehousing process knowledge
  • Knowledgeable about various Transport processes. (Rail, Road, Sea, Air)
