    Are you someone who loves the outdoors, has lots of practical skills? If yes, then this is the job for you.

    As a Ranger, Operations, you will be joining our talented delivery teams carrying out critical conservation work within Mt Aspiring National Park and the Greenstone / Caples Conservation Area.

    The role is broad and will often involve working alone on a variety of conservation projects including :

  • The maintenance of an extensive network of stoat traps
  • Pest animal monitoring
  • We are looking for a fit, responsible and reliable team player, who is not afraid of hard work, and has the following skills :

  • A good basic knowledge and interest in conservation
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work within a small team
  • A high level of backcountry experience, including the ability to navigate steep terrain off trail, working outside of normal working hours (which may include early mornings, evenings and weekends) and will involve travelling in helicopters.
  • A current driver's license
  • Training in first aid and river crossing would be an advantage
  • This is a seasonal position, running from October 14, 2019 to May 29 2020. Applicants must be available to complete the full period of employment.

    Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
