About the role

You’ll be working to support senior staff and develop your skills in road safety engineering and in the development of business cases.

Projects will be both local and national. Part of the focus on road safety will be to service Waka Kotahi’s customers in the Otago region on the Coastal Otago Network Outcomes Contract (CONOC).

Day to day tasks would involve :

  • tCoordinating technical inputs for road safety and transportation capital renewal projects.
  • tProviding and developing your technical expertise in the transport engineering area including traffic impact assessments, transport design, safety audits and assessments and traffic modelling.
  • tAssisting in the technical delivery of business case services.

    Qualifications :

    To be successful for this role you'll need :

    A tertiary qualification in civil engineering and ideally have 2-6 years’ relevant post graduate experience predominantly in transportation, traffic engineering or civil engineering.

    You will be technically competent combined with your successful client relationship building and project management skills, and confident to promote high professional standards in the field of transportation.
