We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Learning Development Lead to join our team and work on a psychological wellbeing project.

The Learning Development Lead is responsible for learning and development duties including the design, development and project management of a range of learning materials to meet the needs of the Fire and Emergency New Zealand.

You will need the sensitivity to navigate an organisation undergoing significant change. With 14,000 personnel, most who work in high risk environments, safety health and wellbeing is fundamental to the successful operation of the organisation.

You will be part of the People and Workforce Capability Directorate and will work closely with the Safety, Health and Wellbeing Project Coordinator.

You will need to quickly develop an understanding of our current psychological wellbeing content and existing learning and development pathways, then create and deliver on a workplan to embed.

You will have a sound background in education and learning, ideally with an understanding of psychological wellbeing, and skill in building relationships and gaining consensus.

You will be a highly organised, can do’ person, who communicates well and can work independently.

The ideal applicant will possess the following attributes :

  • A formal qualification at Diploma or degree level, preferably in education or learning, or equivalent experience
  • Expert course design and understanding and experience in a competency-based environment
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Significant experience and skills in developing materials for delivery in the online and blended learning environment
  • Expertise in Articulate Storyline or equivalent authoring tools
  • An understanding of workplace psychological wellbeing support
  • Some project management experience would be beneficial.
  • The remuneration range is $100,954 - $112,171 (pro-rated).

    Secondments from within Fire and Emergency or another emergency sector agency will be considered.
