The opportunity

As a project manager in EY’s growing Project and Programme delivery capability, you will work alongside a team of skilled delivery professionals to drive the delivery of large-scale transformational work for some of New Zealand’s biggest companies.

As an EY project manager, you will manage a broad range of interesting and exciting projects to drive the technology agenda of our clients forward, interfacing with EY team members, clients, and senior stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities

Project Planning

  • Manage all project activities, including resourcing, objectives, scope, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and functional and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and Project Co-ordinators to obtain necessary project resources including personnel and support infrastructure
  • Project Management

  • Manage the end to end delivery of infrastructure and application build projects from scoping through to delivery
  • Track project progress to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, meeting business requirements and in compliance with project management methodologies and standards
  • Perform regular project reporting including reporting on schedule, budget, scope, quality, risks, issues, dependencies, team, stakeholders and benefits
  • Adopt and adhere to the customers project and program management methodologies across all infrastructure and application projects
  • Monitor and control resources, operational and capital costs against the project budget and ensure projects are delivered within the timeframes defined.
  • Stakeholder Management

  • Manage expectations of all project stakeholders, including any project related vendors, third party resources or delivery managers.
  • Team Management

  • Ensure all supporting project team members (internal / external) have the pre-requisite skills to perform the roles required
  • Risk Management

  • Assessing, managing, reporting and monitoring risks according to the customers IT risk management framework.

    To qualify for the role you must have

  • Excellent project management skills including budget, benefit, schedule and team management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of an organisation
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once
  • Demonstrated customer focus by evaluating decisions from the customer’s perspective; building strong customer relationships and partnering well to help fulfil their needs
  • 6+ years’ experience in a project management function
  • Ideally, you’ll also have
