Enable New Zealand is one of largest provider of support services across the health, rehabilitation, and disability sector for the provision of equipment, housing and vehicle modifications holding regional and national contracts with the Ministry of Health, ACC, and District Health Boards.

Enable New Zealand is an operating division of MidCentral District Health Board. Our head office is located in Palmerston North, with sites in Christchurch and Hamilton.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the development, production and delivery of engaging, informative and innovative communication materials for internal staff across our four sites, as well as helping build our growing reputation among our external stakeholders through our digital channels.

Based at our head office in Palmerston North, this role requires someone with a talent for digital communications, multimedia, and design, who can help raise the profile of the work of our organisation, and who can play a key part in building an engaging, open, and inclusive service driven team.

You’ll be responsible for supporting the Marketing and Customer Experience team, creating engaging content and ensuring it is delivered across multiple channels for a range of target audiences for the organisation.

You’ll be a fantastic communicator, someone who can organise and implement great ideas and initiatives with passion. You’ll have experience of creating content to share engaging stories and information.

You’re organised and able to plan your work in advance, while remaining flexible enough to confidently deal with last minute or urgent communications and marketing tasks.

Experience within the disability or government sector would be an advantage but not essential, as would knowledge of web accessibility standards.

For this role you will have :

  • A Degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or relevant field
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ideally have experience in using Adobe Creative Suite package, in particular InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects
  • Experience with adding, editing, and deleting content using Content Management System
  • Ability to stay up to date with new social media and communications technologies and strategies
  • Experience of coordinating projects

    Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Customer Experience, you will have autonomy in the way that you work. We will help develop your skills through mentoring and training opportunities to ensure you feel supported and able to try out new ideas.

    General Information

    MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts.

    Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000.

    In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.

    Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures.

    Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa.
