Within the Airpoints Programme, Air New Zealand's focus is to build and develop strong strategic relationships with our internal stakeholders and Coalition Partners so this newly created role of Data Analyst will support our Loyalty Data Business Partner to extract, analyse model and interpret data into analytical insights for our Partners.

This role will be working alongside some of our partner businesses to help them fully adopt and deepen their understanding of insights our Loyalty analytics platform can deliver.

What you will do :

  • Work as part of our Loyalty Data Squad to understand our Airpoints Partners challenges, opportunities and best fit analytical solutions.
  • Be responsible for working with our Loyalty Data Business Partner and Loyalty Data Strategy Specialist to translate business requirements into data briefs and turning data briefs into informed, actionable insights.
  • Analyse and interpret data, provide insights regarding trends and impacts on business objectives and provide recommendations for change and / or operational improvements to management.
  • Leverage analytical techniques and software to provide input into the resolution of complex business problems.
  • Build an in-depth understanding of our Loyalty and Airline data and associated data and analytical platforms.
  • As our team grows we will work to continually upskill ourselves with the latest trends and technology. We need you to be a Data and Analytics advocate out in the business helping not only our direct team but all Air New Zealand employees to increase their data literacy.
  • We are looking for people who :

  • Have 3-5 years' experience an analytics role or equivalent experience / training
  • Have a passion for understanding business questions and making data driven insights. Excellent analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in an Analyst role with programming languages such as SQL, Python and R, dbt
  • Solid communication, influential and relationship management skills
  • You will be analytical and methodical in nature and enjoy investigating information to provide deeper insight
  • A strong appetite to understand or an appreciation of the key performance drivers within the retail and services industries
  • Have strong commercial acumen, innovative thinking, and a future focused mindset that you have demonstrated delivering value through the application of data and analytics in large scale projects.
