    We have a great opportunity for a Clinical Product Coordinator to join our supply chain team. With a large team, our supply chain function supports the delivery of health services to our community by ensuring we always have the right products available at the right place, at the right time, across Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand, Waikato

    About the role :

    Do you have a clinical / supply chain / procurement background or experience working with clinical products in the health sector?

    We are looking for a dynamic individual looking for a varied, demanding but rewarding full-time role in our Clinical Product Coordinator team.

    Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand, Waikato is a tertiary hospital based in Hamilton with satellite hospitals in Thames, Te Kuiti, Taumaranui and Tokoroa.

    Servicing the population of the Midland region, we manage a catalogue of over 30,000 unique items and the Clinical Product Supply team are responsible for supporting the introduction and purchase of medical devices as well as the substitution and replacement of medical devices to ensure that risk to patients and staff from introduction and ongoing use of medical devices is minimised.

    In this role, you will be coordinating the introduction of new products. You will be working in a clinical environment and finding out the product needs, finding new products to introduce and replacing end-of-line products.

    You will be communicating with suppliers as well as operational and supply chain teams.

    Key duties will involve :

  • Sourcing safe and cost effective medical devices
  • Developing strong working relationships with all internal and external contacts
  • Providing quality assurance to support procurement initiatives
  • Planning, coordinating and managing relevant activities in the implementation of new and alternate medical devices
  • Researching requests for new medical devices including why new product is required, anticipated volume usage and cost analysis
  • Escalating and providing input into actions required on product alerts, recalls or stock shortages
  • Requirements :

    This is a varied role suited to someone who is able to work well in a team environment, prioritise workloads and who is comfortable with change.

    As the successful candidate, you will :

  • Have previous procurement / supply chain management experience
  • Have relevant experience with the health sector
  • Would be great to have a clinical background
  • Have some exposure or knowledge of product sourcing
  • Have strong analytical research skills and a high level of accuracy
  • Have a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships in a professional work place
  • Be a team player with a 'can do' attitude, who can promote this attitude across the team
  • Have proven ability of working with a diverse range of staff and approved vendors
  • Be highly organised, and have the aptitude to manage a diverse and busy workload
