You’ll be joining the Data and Analytics team who share Auckland DHB’s values of Haere Mai (welcome), Manaaki (respect), Tūhono (together) and Angamua (aim high).
The Senior Data Engineer is a newly established role within ADHB with the primary focus of delivering the modernisation of our data and intelligence platforms to support business intelligence, AI / ML and frontline digital applications.
We have a desire to quickly lift our data and tech maturity and deliver real-time data and integrated analytics, powered by AI / ML, through modern cloud based digital platforms.
To provide context, Auckland DHB and the northern region has been steadily investing in the latest digital tech such as Microsoft Azure, PowerApps, PowerBI, MS Teams, Service Now and Mulesoft.
This is in addition to our existing business intelligence and data management capabilities established over many years. We have started connecting these new capabilities with our hospital systems to enable in-context digital experiences.
This role has been created to accelerate this delivery through the adoption of missing core foundational capabilities wrapped up into a resilient and response data, analytics and visualisation platform.
You will have 12+ years technical implementation experience including data engineering, development of data pipelines and integrations, ETL architecture design and implementation and data visualisations.
You must have built data and visualisation solutions on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure (8+ years) but will also have significant implementation experience on other data & supporting technologies opensource and otherwise.
Examples of these could include databases types such as columnar, relational, NoSQL, multi-dimensional, distributed and in-memory.
You will also have a tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering or Technology related.You must also have deep experience in data platforms and be comfortable working at the operating system level having experience implementing, debugging and optimisation fast data solutions such as Kubernetes, Data Bricks etc.
These skills will be useful not just for our intelligence and digital capabilities but also enable the operationalisation and adoption of our data science capabilities.
