As a result of continued growth in workload and project opportunities GHD’s Structural Engineering Business Group is searching for a Technical Director Structures to help drive the ongoing success of our Auckland team.

Working within our national structures team, your focus will be on building and strengthening our national structural engineering business through the management and delivery of projects, technical leadership and coaching and mentoring our people.

The role : Structural design project leadership and technical delivery on projects including, but not limited to, commercial and industrial new build, civic, education, defence, civil structures, and seismic strengtheningSupport team leadership through mentoring structural team membersAssist with the development of new and repeat business within the upper North Island and nationally as required including preparation of proposals and bids for projects, client relationship management and strategic planning.

About you : BE Civil and Chartered Professional Engineer (NZ) with 15+ years New Zealand experienceProven experience designing to NZ Building Codes, with a strong understanding of seismic design systems in a New Zealand context.

Significant building design experience across both the public and private sector and across a wide range of building typesWell connected and networked in the local property industry and a passion for staying abreast of industry needs and best practiceProven experience managing successful structural engineering projectsBe motivated to contribute and add value to a fully multidisciplinary design businessProven ability to develop good business relationships and secure work for self and teamSelf-motivated, energetic and dynamic leader who has a strong desire to develop and lead a high performing teamOur commitment to youFostering gender balance, diversity and acceptance of flexible working is central to the way GHD does business.
