class collections and the permanent and volunteer staff who tell the Museum's stories.The Museum has an exciting permanent opportunity as Senior Manager, Tourism and Commercial Events in the Commercial department.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, this role will contribute to the development of the overarching Commercial Events & Tourism strategies and will lead the tourism and events team in implementation these strategies and business plans -
with a focus on maximising profitability, optimising museum venue utilisation and delivering exceptional customer experiences that are aligned with Auckland Museum's brand strategies -
inspired by our collections, Tamaki Makaurau and Aotearoa.The Senior Manager Tourism and Commercial events will be charged with enhancing and growing the Museum's events and Tourism business, by fostering and developing relationships with customers, suppliers and other partners.
You will also improve profitability through careful strategic planning and positioning in the appropriate markets and enhancing the operation of the business.
This is an exceptional opportunity; the successful candidate will be an experienced business leader who has proven success leading, motivating and driving sales in an event, hospitality or tourism field, and able to energetically lead a team along on a journey during an exciting period of change and growth.
