What you will be doing :
We have an rare opportunity for a Senior Associate to join the Audit of Tax (AoT) Team in Auckland. The AoT Team supports Financial Assurance by ensuring that the tax related financial disclosures are appropriate and tax issues impacting our client’s financial statements are identified.
Our team focuses on audit quality by producing efficient, consistent and clear documentation focusing on the required support for the client's tax position.
You would be part of a small, but growing team that is a key part of Assurance. This role perfectly blends tax knowledge and experience with accounting skills.
This is an excellent opportunity to build your tax knowledge and to branch out into the audit, accounting and financial reporting areas.
We will provide you with energetic and expert coaching on all things audit of tax related as well as focusing on your career development including your coaching approach, building your ability to manage a team and ensuring that you have the ability to grow and develop your skills for future progressions.
Key responsibilities include :
Working with and building relationships with a wide variety of clients, from smaller, private companies, all the way up to large, listed companies.
Preparing and reviewing the AoT work on Assurance engagements.
Coaching and mentoring multiple secondees on the audit of tax approach.
Building relationships within Assurance across the country
Assisting engagement teams and clients to appropriately plan for the audit of tax work.
Assisting with the management of the AoT team all the way from the team booking, to the work allocation and through to job completion.
What you bring to the role :
3-5 years' corporate tax experience within a Big 4 or similar
Have, or be well on the way to a professional accounting qualification
Experience with tax effect accounting and IAS 12
Strong time management and organisational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
The ability to critically analyse and explain complex information to clients and colleagues in a way which is easy to understand
