We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented and highly organised Health and Safety team member to join us.

Headquartered in Gisborne, Eastland Group specialises in regional infrastructure. We run Tairawhiti's port, airport and electricity lines company, as well as generation assets including geothermal power plants in Kawerau.

We're also exploring the opportunities offered by emerging technologies in the energy space.

Our goal is for everyone on every Eastland Group site to return home safely each day, and to achieve Zero Harm through positive reinforcement.

We have a company-wide focus on health and wellness, and have initiated a number of innovative health and safety programmes for our staff and the wider business community.

This new full-time permanent position will report to the HSE Facilitator, and will involve working at both our Network and Port offices, as well as conducting onsite visits.

Duties include :

  • Adopting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure the safety of our people and environment.
  • Supporting and assisting with the HSE Facilitator's routine compliance checks.
  • Ensuring timely incident management (this includes : investigations, corrective actions, and sharing key learnings).
  • Conducting and participating in hazard management and reviews.
  • Assisting with contractor management, induction and auditing.
  • Administrative tasks as requested by the HSE Facilitator.
  • The ideal candidate for this role will have :

  • Previous exposure to injury management, risk assessment, incident investigation.
  • Excellent report writing and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications and H&S software programmes.
  • A working knowledge of HSE legislation and the infrastructure industry.
  • An ability to be self motivated, focused, and handle multiple projects.
