The Liggins Institute are seeking a Research Midwife to join their world leading research centre on a fixed term (12 months) basis.

Full and part time applicants will be considered.

The responsibilities of this role include :

  • Playing a key role in the set up and conduct of a multicentre trial investigating the effect of corticosteroids prior to planned caesarean section after 35 weeks at National Women’s Health, Auckland City Hospital
  • Taking responsibility for one or more smaller projects
  • Working together with a range of stakeholders including obstetricians, midwives, and researchers
  • An integral role in recruitment, consent process, study drug administration, neonatal monitoring, and data collection

    Our ideal candidate will :

  • Be a qualified and practicing midwife
  • Be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
  • Have experience in the care of pregnant women and newborn babies at National Women’s Health and / or in clinical trials research
  • Have intermediate level Microsoft office skills (excel, word) and excellent attention to detail when collecting and entering data
  • Have some flexibility in weekday working hours to accommodate participant scheduling and late afternoon / early evening neonatal monitoring
