The Brand Activation Advisor designs, coordinates, promotes and delivers inspiring and exciting brand experiences that enhance the image of the University and encourage engagement with the brand.

The role is also responsible for building, nurturing and enhancing corporate sponsorship relationships and leveraging these partnerships through original sponsorship activations.

This is a creative role tasked with envisioning new ways to activate our brand and engage with future students and communities.

Creative ideation and problem solving are essential.

We are looking for a passionate marketer who can bring an innovative approach to shaping our brand activations, bringing the brand to life through virtual and in-person experiences.

The successful applicant will be a confident and persuasive marketer and relationship manager with strong brand experience and a proven ability to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities within tight time frames.

This role reports to the University Brand Manager.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Developing the annual Brand Activation Activity Plan in alignment with the University’s strategic objectives.
  • Coordinating the planning and delivery of all virtual and in-person brand activation activities including high profile, large scale, recruitment focused brand experiences.
  • From the facilitation of promotion through to implementation and post activation follow up, debriefing sessions and debrief reports, providing advice and information to key stakeholders.

  • Identifying and executing opportunities to deliver multi-channel experiences with virtual and in-person activations.
  • Identifying and implementing new and creative communications approaches to enhance communications effectiveness and engagement.
  • Developing effective and constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to support and maintain a customer focused approach in the delivery of services.

    To be successful in this role, you will have the following :

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant tertiary qualification
  • Two to three years’ experience organising and coordinating marketing activities
  • Preferred : Experience organising or coordinating a range of large and small activations with attendance from 20 1000+ in a large complex organisation
  • Strong project planning, coordinating and execution experience
  • Problem-solving ability requiring judgement and interpretation of established information
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Well demonstrated planning and organisational skills
  • Stakeholder management skills

    Communications and Marketing comprises of four sections : Communications, Marketing, Web and Schools and Community Engagement.

  • The Division is responsible for fostering positive relationships with future students and their influencers, staff and the media through : provision of information to future students, influencers and careers advisors via the University’s website, advertising, publications, and events;
  • the development and management of the University of Auckland brand and reputation; the recruitment of high-achieving undergraduate and postgraduate students;
  • the provision of internal communications; careful handling of issues; and interacting constructively with the media.
