About the Role

Last year we implemented our new HRIS system and now we are moving from an interim operating model to a permanent model, so we have some exciting opportunities.

This is a permanent full-time position and reports to the Team Leader HRIS.

This role is involved in the administration and ongoing support for SAP and associated systems. You will be responsible for the organisation and position management, and ensure accurate data held against the positions.

You will work closely with the payroll, financial accounting and people experience teams and have a collaborative approach to deliver services for the business.

You will ensure that system security and workflow is maintained, and that robust processes are utilised at all times for maintaining user privileges

You may be required to gather requirements and implement change, and be able to proactively identify improvement opportunities to enhance systems to meet the current and strategic needs of the Ministry.

With the changes you will need to develop user documentation and when required provide training.

The payroll team is part of finance and you will work closely with our people experience and digital teams. Finance leads the design, development and delivery of effective financial strategies, policies, systems and management aligned to the Ministry's strategic direction.

The team enables the Ministry to meet its financial reporting and taxation requirements, provide payroll, employee data, and financial transaction processing.

He pūkenga tou / Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have :

  • knowledge and experience with SAP Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll
  • experience with position and organisation management
  • the ability to work through a problem and identify the cause with a view to establishing a solution
  • effective planning and organisational skills, including time management and prioritising work
  • the ability to identify areas of process improvement / system development
  • excellent communicator both written and verbal
