Ko te kaupapa About the role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and appropriately qualified Registered Nurse to take on a permanent full-time position as Clinical Nurse Manager of WDHB Theatre Services.

This role encompasses clinical leadership and operational management of nursing and supports staff within the service. The position is ideal for someone who understands and values the importance of teamwork and partnering with patients and family / whanau.

Key to this position is the ability to provide clinical leadership and management whilst striving for continuous quality improvement.

Whanganui District Health Board has a clinical management structure in place and this position will report to and be supported by a nurse manager, both professionally and operationally.

In this role you will be responsible for managing the staffing resources, and overseeing clinical practice standards, budget and multi-disciplinary team involvement through an inclusive management style.

The position will provide you with an opportunity to utilise your initiative to lead and influence a culture that will provide best safe care for patients and a learning environment for staff.

Have a minimum of 5 years post-graduate nursing experience, preferable some experience in theater

Have clinical leadership and operational management experience

Ability to lead and motivate a diverse nursing team

Committed to person centered service delivery

Be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate

COVID Vaccination requirements

Following the update to COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021, to be employed with Whanganui District Health Board you will be required to be fully vaccinated as a health care worker.

If you have already been vaccinated, you will need to provide proof of this to Occupational Health staff.

If you are not fully vaccinated you must make arrangements to undertake your first vaccination no later than 15 November 2021 and by fully vaccinated, as required by the order, by 1 January 2022.
