Mō te tūnga About the role

This role couldpotentially be in a range of different wards, from Radiology to Paediatrics withinall of our facilities. It all depends on the need of the ward and the facility.

We have opportunities all over our campus so you could be placed atChristchurch Campus, Burwood Campus, Hillmorton Hospital or The PrincessMargaret Hospital.

Your rolewill be crucial in ensuring the wards and departments are running effectively.This could include; managing patient transactions (bookings, admissions,discharge and transfer), first point of contact for tūroro (patients) andtheir whānau along with hospital staff, transcription, coordinator withinternal and external stakeholders and other administrative tasks.

Withopportunities to learn and develop your own skills, you will have theopportunity to support and grow the patient care we provide to the community.

  • Typing skills (typing speed of 50 70 WPM)
  • Customer service skills
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Great relationship building skills - able to relate to patients, their whānau and CDHB staff
  • Able to pick up and use new systems and technology
  • Experience in admin or coordination is preferable but not essential
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (not essential)
