Star Media is a division of Allied Press, a family owned South Island media company, who employ over 450 people across the South Island.

We operate across multiple media platforms delivering news that connects and engages our audiences every day. We also provide a range of Creative service solutions for our clients to ensure their marketing and advertising provides them outstanding results.

We are currently looking for a Graphic Designer to join our Commercial design team. Reporting to the team leader, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of marketing material across both print and digital platforms Mailchimp EDMs, website graphics, retail point of sale, brochures, logos, branding, along with online business administration for our clients, in a very friendly and supportive culture.

Key responsibilities include :

Producing artwork on brand for campaigns and various creative artwork across both print and digital

Assist with the planning, organising and creation of brand and promotional marketing collateral and advertising

Coordinate and complete artwork and ensure that this is of a high quality and in line with brand guidelines

Ensure advertising material complies with production specs and is supplied fit for channel

To be successful in this role, you will have :

A qualification in Graphic Design along with demonstrated experience as a Graphic Designer

A strong level of capability and experience using the Adobe Creative suite, specifically Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat.

Experience in After Effects would be advantageous.

Experience in digital design is required, knowledge of MailChimp, Data Merge, including basic knowledge of HTML and CSS

Strong administrative and communication skills, a good level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, Spreadsheets and Google Drive

Work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines and the ability to be agile with our clients needs

Efficient work habits and the ability to build positive relationships with staff and stakeholders
