We have an exciting opportunity for an to join our team, reporting to the HR Manager based in Auckland for a 12 month fixed term period (maternity leave cover).

You will be responsible for supporting a number of sites including manufacturing facilities at Wiri, Hastings and Christchurch.

You will work in close consultation with the HR Manager and other site leaders to provide HR support for the NZ region.

Some key responsibilities will include :

  • Administration around various HR processes including contracts and letters of offer, preparing letters for sign off, general ad hoc duties
  • Employee Relations based around answering general queries, providing support and advice in formal disciplinary matters when required and relationship building across the business at all levels
  • Recruitment - Working with hiring managers to shortlist candidates, arrange and conduct interviews and complete verbal references when required
  • Assisting with the implementation of the HRIS system, including process mapping, change management, data cleansing, training and communication.
  • Manage and support the onboarding and exit process with managers
  • Ideally you will have the following experience and skills

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in an HR generalist setting in a highly unionised environment
  • You will also be someone who uses their initiative, attention to detail, and customer service approach to deliver positive results in a busy and varied working environment.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and a working knowledge of current HR practices and NZ employment legislation
  • Experience with HRIS & payroll systems
  • A discrete, mature individual and able to work in a confidential environment
  • A good sense of humour and high levels of resilience
