Location and Hours of work
Providing care from Wellington central through to the Hutt Valley, Porirua and the Kapiti Coast, we are looking for support workers to join us across the wider Wellington region.
Hours for this position will be worked as and when required, by mutual agreement. Providing care for our clients in their homes across seven days of the week, between 7am and 10pm, our greater demand is in the mornings, evenings and weekends.
All casual support workers would require some weekend availability.
What does this role involve?
A day in this role will see you working autonomously, with a range of clients in their homes, in the community.
Providing support with personal care : from showering, dressing, compression stockings, medication, and mobility, to domestic assistance : completing housework, preparing meals and assisting people with shopping.
To be successful in this positon, you will :
Be friendly in your approach, passionate about working with people, and providing a high level of care for our clients.
Hold a full New Zealand drivers licence, and have your own reliable transport.
Be confident using a smart phone and computer.
Excel in learning new systems, corresponding by e-text and email.
Have a high level of English compression, numeracy and literacy, and a willingness to complete formal on-the-job training (mostly online).
Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
The ideal applicant will have previous experience working in the community as a support worker, or similar, holding a Certificate in Health and Wellbeing.
However, this is not essential, as full training is available.
