About the role :

You will be responsible for providing GIS services to external and / or internal clients in a shared services environment.

This will require you to apply your developed technical knowledge to determine client needs and propose optimal GIS solutions to meet them.

Day to day tasks would involve :

  • tCreating mapping exhibits / deliverables on assigned projects
  • tUtilising GIS platform and software programs to complete assigned tasks
  • tDeveloping and creating GIS solutions to aide stakeholders, clients, and other users in understanding the relationships, patterns and trends of geospatial information
  • tManage areas of Stantec’s new Enterprise Licence, e.g. within Portal and ArcGIS Online
  • tTrain and / or mentor less experienced staff in developing GIS technical skills
  • To be successful for this role you'll need :

  • tUndergraduate qualification in GIS, Geology, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • t4+ years’ experience working in a private consultancy preferred
  • tExperience working with GIS Platforms, the Esri software suite including ArcMap, ArcPro, Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS online
  • tKnowledge and experience in database design and development, with knowledge of SQL / SQL database, FME and Python preferred
  • tRequires application of well-developed technical knowledge in planning, conducting and coordinating difficult projects.
  • tExcellent written and verbal communication skills
