Oil Intel are the leading oil and lubricants importer and distributor for Total in the Asia Pacific region. Born and bred in Hawkes Bay, we have grown rapidly since 2004 and employ 70 people across ten locations.

We have ambitious growth plans, and to achieve these are looking for a General Manager -Sales to lead our 30 strong sales force.

This strategic role will work closely with the CEO as a key member of our Senior Leadership Team. The role will provide insights into the business using strong analytics to determine key areas of growth, coach and develop the sales team, develop solid relationships internally and externally and drive business development activity with the support of three direct reports (Regional Managers).

As the General Manager - Sales your key focus will be to :

  • Work closely with the CEO and wider Senior Leadership Team to drive the strategy
  • Coach and develop strong resilient leaders who drive high standards, understand our strategy and customers’ needs and requirements
  • Overall leadership of all sales projects, proposals and priorities
  • Provide business insights through analytics and reporting to ensure sound and well thought out decisions are made in relation to customers, pricing, planning and priorities
  • Ensure the wider team are empowered and motivated to achieve their KPI’s by driving a high-performance culture
  • Instill solid planning and preparation across the sales force to make sure effort is focused in the right areas and in line with our company strategy and regional plans
  • Drive and lead by example by ensuring critical technological tools such as the CRM is embedded in how we do things.
  • To be successful in our fast paced and complex business you will be a senior sales executive with at least ten years’ experience as a dedicated sales expert on a senior leadership team and have the confidence to interact at a Board level.

    You will have a strong background in driving sales strategies through empowering and motivating teams with solid leadership and coaching.

    An understanding of technology and analytics, strong commercial acumen and the ability to build strong longstanding relationships is a must.
