About the role

An exciting opportunity to be part of the team working in a unit which opened in December 2021.

Te Whare Takihi mo te Katoa, the new satellite dialysis unit, is located in the Hutt Valley Health Hub which is next door to Hutt Hospital.

This is an essential role in facilitating the smooth running of activities in the new Hutt Dialysis Unit.

This position ensures daily unit activities to support patient care are met, including preparing supplies for patient treatment, restocking, cleaning equipment, and general support to the nursing team to meet service needs.

Part time position available for a Health Care Assistant to cover rostered and rotating morning and afternoon shifts from Monday Sunday 1030-1430 hours and 1830-2200 hours.

Duties :

  • Positive people interactions
  • Prepare supplies for patient treatment
  • Prepare dialysis space
  • Cleaning equipment
  • Keep unit clean and tidy
  • Trolleys are well stocked
  • Respond to nurse requests for assistance
  • Skills & Experience

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Positive work attitude
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to work under direction but also carry out tasks independently
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting beneficial
  • Level 3 NZQA qualification
