The objective of the Refugee Quota Policy is to provide a safe haven and resettle refugees who have been referred by the United National High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in line with New Zealand's national, international and humanitarian obligations and commitments.
The Refugee Quota Branch also manages the reception centre and delivery of the reception programme at the Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre.

The Resettlement Case Officer Housing, works in partnership with Housing New Zealand, Ministry of Social Development and private landlords to identify suitable first home for each family.
As part of this role there is regular travel to the resettlement regions in New Zealand, to gain an understanding of the housing market and to build strategic relationships.
The right candidate will have an understanding of the social or private housing market, proven strengths in relationship management with stakeholders as well as strong organisational skills.
Skills and experience required : Knowledge of Social Housing, Private housing or similar backgroundHave previous experience in building relationships with commercial, non-
government and government stakeholders.Have strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise, manage high and sometimes changing workloads and meet deadlinesHave the ability to establish credibility and build strong working relationshipsHave strong verbal and written communication skillsHave experience of working in a multi-
