The Role :
The incumbent is responsible for the delivery of various manicure, pedicure treatments, hair washing, cut, blow dry, barbering services to include shaving, make-up applications and lesson and waxing services that offer guests a method to reduce stress, relaxation and contribute to a sense of well-being, as well as providing guests with appropriate at home product / retail support.
Responsibilities :
The incumbent is responsible for :
Adhering to all requirements set forth in the Catalina Island Company policies and procedures and non-compete documents and the service expectations as set forth by Management
Acknowledging the confidential nature of the professional relationship with the guests and respect each member’s right to privacy
Ensuring the comfort of all guests while performing treatments and direct all efforts toward guests’ satisfaction
Constantly monitoring the quality of all Island Spa Catalina services and treatments
Communicating with the reception desk staff on a regular basis to ensure smooth scheduling and billing
Maintaining awareness of daily schedules and trouble-shoot any last minute changes or updates as well as monitoring weekly and monthly schedules to ensure accuracy
Performing all treatments and participate in continued education classes / trainings to learn other treatment / modalities offered and introduced to future menus
Following all treatment protocols as instructed
Attending all mandatory training sessions and meetings
Greeting guests at the exact time of scheduled appointments to ensure punctual start time of reserved treatments
Escorting guests to designated treatment room, addressing guests by name, reconfirming treatment type and explaining protocol for specific treatment / s that will be provided
Conducting a complete guest’s consultation to ensure that the guest’s expectations will be met
Keeping work area clean and stocked at all times
Adhering to all sanitization requirements and laws as set forth by the State of California
Encouraging guests to relax and keeping conversation to a minimum during treatment
Offering the guests a glass of water / tea and enquiring if they are having another service and, if so, escorting them to the appropriate are at conclusion of service
Maintaining valid esthetic license and provide a copy to Management for file
Adhering to time off / shift coverage request policy
Demonstrating professional excellence through regular self-assessment of strengths, limitations and effectiveness by continued education and training
Ensuring proper adherence to Company policies for time recording utilizing Paycom
Ensuring Spa uniforms and appearance meets the standards as set forth by the Spa Director and in accordance with Catalina Island Company’s culture
Ensuring set up, preparation, stocking, replenishing and cleanup of treatment area is in accordance with the company policy and procedures
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications :
Must be minimum of 18 years of age
Must have exceptional warm, customer service skills and able to greet guests in a sincere and hospitable manner to ensure guest is comfortable and has a truly memorable experience
Education and / or Experience :
Must possess High School / GED Diploma
Must hold a valid Cosmetology License
Language Skills :
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to stand, walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, push and pull on a regular basis.
Must have full range of overhead motions and full hand dexterity.
Requires visual acuity and the ability to hear clearly to communicate with managers, coworkers and guests
Must be properly groomed at all times in accordance with company standards and policies
