As one of New Zealand's foremost consultancy on natural hazard and climate risk and adaption planning, we are seeking a principal consultant for work primarily within the Pacific region, to help our clients understand and manage their natural hazard and climate risks.

About the role

  • Lead and manage projects from initiation to completion, in the areas of natural hazard and climate risk management / assessment;
  • climate adaptation planning; disaster risk management, and infrastructure and community resilience

  • Understand and supervise natural hazard risk modelling and assessments across various hazard and risk-receptor types
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, prepare written reports and action plans
  • Perform project management activities in accordance with T+T quality system
  • Assist with business development activities including meeting with prospective clients and partners, creating service and / or product offerings, and developing proposals
  • Build enduring relationships with clients and partners including local and national government, emergency management, and insurance sectors
  • About you

  • Experience of working in the Pacific region with extensive track record with development agencies
  • Established professional in natural hazard and climate change risk and adaptation
  • Robust understanding of science and policy on disaster and climate change
  • Demonstrated track record of project management in a professional services consultancy setting to a range of public and private sector clients
  • Proven ability to develop others, lead multi-disciplinary project teams, and engage stakeholders
  • Proven ability to communicate simply in oral and written formats () to specialist and non-specialist audiences
