  • The Rolling Stock Asset Services (RSAS) group has overall responsibility and ownership for managing KiwiRail's rolling stock assets, including mainline and shunt locomotives, freight and specialist wagons, containers, passenger carriages and other rolling stock vehicles and equipment.

    Your role :

    In this newly created position as the Production Planning & Control Lead you will have an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in the development and application of all production planning processes at Hutt Workshops.

    The role will involve engagement with the asset management, Hutt Workshops, and inventory management team to deriving and implement the annual production plan for all work activities undertaken at the site.

    Hutt Workshops in the early stages of its production planning and control journey, and as such the role will require mentorship and coaching of our newly created team of Production Planners as we move towards best practice.

    The role is by nature is flexible, and the successful candidate will apply their extensive production planning & control knowledge to skilfully manage schedules with varying complexity, importance, and scope.

    Your skills :

    To be successful as a Production Planning & Control Lead you will need :

  • 5+ years' experience in complex project management or production planning roles in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders
  • Ability to successfully coach and mentored supporting team members.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyse, interpret and present complex data in a way that is clear and easy to understand.
