About the Role

As the Te Anau Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the district's operations team to ensure effective integrated delivery of high-quality conservation outcomes.

Importantly we are looking for someone who can create and identify game change opportunities and who makes them happen. You will have strength in operating discipline to ensure the region thrives.

The work programme across the motu is diverse and ambitious, so your ability to foster and continuously enhance team wellbeing and culture through strong engagement, empowerment, guidance, and ongoing development is critical.

Whakawhanaungatanga will be a guiding principle throughout this mahi and will enable you to foster, enhance and develop new relationships both with treaty partners, community stakeholders and the wider Fiordland community.

This appointment requires an experienced people leader who is skilled at inspiring, motivating and directing teams who will shape a culture that values continuous improvement.

There is a strong relationship management component to this role, including working alongside whānau, hapū, iwi collaboratively and effectively, as well as the community, businesses, and others.

Experience in conservation management is desirable but not essential

Te Anau and the Fiordland District is one of the most spectacular thus most complex and challenging within Te Papa Atawhai.

It is well supported by the region and organisations Senior Leadership team and offers the right candidate, an unparalleled experience and opportunity.
