About this role

Manager Geospatial Asset Management Crown Property

Our Crown Property Group provides the leadership and direction for Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) administered property, looking for opportunities to maximise these assets for the benefit of New Zealanders.

We manage around two million hectares of Crown land, including lakes, rivers, surplus crown assets, commercial and residential properties, farms and forests.

Our Crown Property work programme is taking a considerable step forward to expand our capability and capacity in supporting delivery across the Crown Property work programme.

Recent increases in investment and the need for geospatial services to support our delivery means that we require support to the group with a Manager Geospatial Asset Management, Crown Property.

Done well, this role will be instrumental in ensuring the Crown Property work programme has the right products and services to work in partnership with others and to deliver our work programmes and projects to meet our operational objectives.

You will lead a team of Geospatial Analysts who have expertise in working in partnership to deliver everything from field applications to geospatial information and data to support decision making across agencies and stakeholders, to deliver the best possible outcomes for Toitū Te Whenua LINZ, the Crown and all New Zealanders.

As well as leadership skills, you will bring strong operational experience and acumen around delivery, particularly in the geospatial arena.

You will be both a strategic thinker and a doer, able to plan work and enable the team to successfully deliver the work programme.

You will be able to work collaboratively with other team members and interpret operational requirements to develop service specifications and documentation.

To successfully achieve the outcomes of this role, you'll establish yourself as a key advocate for best practice operational delivery support across the Crown Property team and will proactively lead the interface between the Geospatial Asset Management team, suppliers, and other parts of Toitū Te Whenua LINZ and government.

This role provides an opportunity to develop meaningful networks across multiple Toitū Te Whenua LINZ teams. In addition to the relationships you establish across Crown Property, you will also work closely with our external partners to ensure successful delivery of our programme.

You will draw on the insight you develop from your day-to-day work to provide strategic input and oversight that informs and complements the delivery of Crown Property's broader outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will be seen as a highly credible operator, who can represent the team and our work internally and externally.

You'll need well developed and polished communication skills and, most importantly, will commit yourself to continuously improving upon and evolving the approach you take to the development of the operational delivery capability within the Geospatial Asset Management team.

This role can be based at any of our office locations in Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch.
