Community Programmes Manager Northern Region Based in Auckland Perfect role for a leader with a passion for service delivery Join one of NZs most trusted charities St John provides a broad range of health and community services nationally and is a cornerstone of New Zealand society Our values set the tone for everything each of us does and provides the framework for how we treat each other As a brand the name St John achieves instant recognition with most New Zealanders As the Regional Community Programmes Manager you will be responsible for the leadership management planning and delivery of the various Community Programmes across the Northern Region which spans from Northland through to Hauraki Coromandel Bringing strong people and project management experience you will support lead and encourage the Programme Managers to ensure a strategic and knowledgeable approach to the community programmes Fundamental aspects of this role are communication and managing expectations and a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with communities and key stakeholders at local and national level Above all you will have the utmost respect for volunteers and a genuine desire to help others Key Responsibilities Contributing effectively to strategy planning and delivery of our community programmes including Youth Caring Callers Friends of the Emergency Department Hospital Friends Therapy Pets and Health Shuttles embedding best practice from community health initiatives across the region Working collaboratively with Area Committees through Community Engagement Managers to deliver and if appropriate roll out local Community Health projects Contribute to developing and implementing business and Community Health plans tailored to the region Lead and develop the Community Programmes team to improve community programme process and procedure including a focus on strengthening future volunteer sustainability Build partnership opportunities to strengthen Community Health outcomes You will bring Strong people and project management experience and a proven ability to build a positive constructive team and culture Experience in service leadership ideally across a geographically spread business unit Exceptional communication and relationship management skills Proven success in building strong networks both internally and externally Effective time management and organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple competing priorities Experience exposure to working for a NFP would be an advantage A good financial acumen St John is a complex organisation that encourages and welcomes diversity therefore your background and experience will need to show your ability to work in a similar environment To succeed in this role you will be forward thinking innovative and open to change Applications close Tuesday 26 November We welcome and encourage diversity in our workforce and adhere to best practice equal employment opportunity principles in all aspects of our recruitment and our ways of working Haramai ng tai o te niwaniwa he k hui rangatira t nei he k hui whakamana t ngata whaimahi e te iti e te rahi e
