About the role and who we are looking for :
We are looking for an enthusiastic Chef to assist our team at our Senior Living site in Hillsborough, Auckland . Hours of work are, full time 40 hours rostered from Thursday to Monday.
The breakdown in hours per day is as follows :
Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays 09 : 00 - 17 : 30 - Hospital cooking.
Mondays 07 : 00 - 14 : 30 - Café cooking.
Fridays 10 : 00 - 19 : 30pm - Night Al a carte.
MLC Parkside Village enjoys a prime location in charming Hillsborough, central Auckland. It's conveniently situated too, just off Auckland's south western motorway and only fifteen minutes from the airport and motorway south.
And the village is easily accessible from the city, eastern and western suburbs. Uniform and safety shoes and free parking will be provided! This role also have potential for future career growth.
This role is for someone that is responsible, reliable, honest and consistent in delivering high quality food for the rest home as well as the Café.
Flexibility is a must in regard to rosters and function catering. Previous experience in a café, carvery and a la carte environment is preferred.
Being friendly and approachable is essential for this role.
You will be responsible for :
In this position you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of meals according to specific dietary requirements and dietitian recipes and ensuring the quality of every dish we serve! You will need to be able to deliver the menus while maintaining food cost as well as ensuring the health and wellbeing of our customers through allergen and nutrition management.
Ideal skills and experience you will have :
As our perfect candidate, you will already have at least 3 years' proven work experience in a similar chef position and you will hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 and 168).
Being computer literate is a must. You will have a confident and creative cooking style with a strong emphasis on quality and presentation and be a great communicator.
You will competently juggle multiple demands within a challenging environment but most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
