Senior Advisor Security Practice and Improvement National Security Operations Wellington MOJ 1426085 The Health Safety and Security HSS group supports the Ministrys managers and employees to put health safety and security at the heart of everything they do We are made up of four teams Performance Advice Health Safety and Emergency Management Privacy and Security Policy and National Security Operations The group leads the development of HSS strategy and operational policy and are responsible for the design development and deployment of programmes and initiatives that support and strengthen the Ministrys HSS culture This role reports to the Manager Security Practice and Improvement SPI In this role you will work with the SPI team and the wider HSS Group to identify practice improvement opportunities and deliver professional effective relevant and fitforpurpose Court Security training You will be responsible for the analysis design and implementation of training as well as implementing practices and procedures that ensure appropriate safety is maintained in training delivery policies and procedures You will also be on the lookout for quick wins and any opportunity to lift the frontlines capability Relevant experience in the following would be an advantage qualifications in research design and development of training resources material training management and delivery experience experience in or knowledge of Personal Safety and Defensive Tactics Critical Incident Management Training Legislation Training Court Security Act 1990 working in a procedural environment National recruitment and training for front line staff is ongoing so the chosen individual will need to hit the ground running The successful candidate should have the ability to work professionally with a strong focus on initiative and innovation have an enthusiastic approach and be able to work within tight timeframes You will need excellent reporting ethic and the discipline to work unsupervised We are looking for an effective trainer with an eye for ways to improve and complement existing practice and has but not limited to a National Certificate in Adult Education and Training level 4 or relevant qualifications or equivalent knowledge and skills relevant knowledge skills and experience in the effective delivery of Officer Safety techniques critical incident management personal safety and empty hand techniques knowledge of Legislative Training and Procedures the Court Security Act 1999 technical proficiency with training policies and procedures and a good working knowledge of training and education of learning theory instructional design practices and educational evaluation research and development of training resources and material There is a requirement for you to travel nationally and have the interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of individuals both internally and externally The expected starting salary for this role is between 82 394 96 934 based on the individuals qualifications and experience Please see the Position Description document for further information requirements The Ministry of Justice is committed to equal opportunity in all our employment policies and procedures All staff regardless of gender race marital status age disability sexual orientation religious or ethical beliefs have access to equal employment opportunities in recruitment training and career opportunities and conditions of employment To apply please complete the online application form attaching your full CV and a covering letter No applications will be considered without a cover letter explaining why you are interested in this position Applications close on Wednesday 23 October 2019 Applications will be acknowledged once the advertisement has closed If you have any questions about the role or the recruitment process please contact NSOadmin justice govt nz Report this job advert
