About the team
Ward 11 is an Inpatient Mental Health rehabilitation / sub-acute setting based at Wakari Hospital, Dunedin, for adults who have a long term mental illness and co-existing problems.

Do you have an interest in making a real difference in the lives of others within the mental health sector?
Our Mental Health Assistants are key team members who assist our nursing and allied health staff to ensure an effective and efficient service.
As an assistant working in mental health you'll need to have a positive attitude and good communication skills, be able to take direction and work well as part of the team.
Computer literacy is essential and experience working with people in the health sector is an advantage.
Our ideal applicant will be confident in providing support and assisting patients; display initiative; be patient focussed at all times, and be able to adapt to a changing environment.

Our Mental Health Assistant staff can be asked to work a variety of shifts over seven days; mornings (7.00am start to 3.
30pm), afternoons (2.20pm start to 10.50pm) and nights (10.40pm start to 7.10am).
